Cool Finds

So, every now and again you find yourself quickly turning the wheel at a handwritten sign on the side of the road with “SALE” written on it just hoping for a bargain. Garage sales, flea markets, and estate sales are some of the best ways to find deals. Here are some things I’ve come across:

This fan was found in someone’s grandparent’s attic, amongst other treasures.

This is my most recent find. It was in a friend’s basement, and given to me to make fresh again. I love the legs with the little metal caps on them.

Phone Table

I believe this was the table given to me by an old friend. I also found a similar table at a garage sale for $6 that I re-covered and gave to my sister. Trying to cram it into the back of a friends tiny 2 door car was one of the reasons I invested in a mini-van. I have no kids, hoard no soccer teams and don’t own dogs, but I love to bargain hunt.

Black Dresser

My boyfriend actually found this crazy black dresser by the garbage one day. The things that make this so odd are as follows:

1. It’s been spray painted black
2. It’s uneven on the sides… and looks like it’s been chopped off of a larger dresser somehow.
3. It’s got a plug in outlet on the side of it that strangely enough works…

I did take it outside one day, sand it, paint the whole thing white, and use it as a clothing dresser after lining the drawers with wallpaper pieces. Voila! New dresser!

I found this awesome Bicycle Poster at a garage sale in the plastic wrap attached to cardboard. I know I should get it framed. but that costs money, (and I didn’t want to wait) so it’s pinned up right now.

I acquired this magazine holder from a friend. Having a friend that’s an antique dealer is pretty cool. She said magazine racks like this were once used in places like Dentist’s office.

These glasses were a great find. Again, from an attic hunt.
